Roc Nation Summer Classic

Roc Nation always does it big; and when they are hosting an event in Brooklyn, they do it bigger! Earlier this week, Roc Nation hosted its annual Summer Classic Basketball tournament to raise money for various charities.  This year’s the captains were  CC Sabathia and the PitCCh Foundation, Robinson Canno’s RC22 foundation, Miguel Cotto’s Fondacion de el Angel and Nick Jonas’ Beyond Type 1.

“ I grew up in the inner city and had a bunch of program to help me get to where I am. Mainly the Boys and Girls Club. So I kind of  wanted to start an organization like that,” said CC Sabathia when asked about the reason for his foundation.

Celebs from all genre’s including DJ Khaled, Victor Cruz and Justine Skye were in attendance to support and enjoy a night of good vibes. Also present were, Power 105’s Angie Martinez and ESPN’s Jay Williams who served as MC’s for the night; engaging the crowd and maintaining the hype. To add to their job titles for the night, they even became sideline reporters at one point.

“We have to win by any means necessary.” -Nick Jonas stated when asked by Jay Williams what his game strategy was.

Spectators were treated to a show that included a dunk contests, dance outbursts and of course plenty of trash talking. But when it all boiled down, Team Cano and The RC22 Foundation took home the trophy for the second year in a row, despite CC promising he wouldn’t allow it to happen back to back.

Take a look at the footage from the night.
